Village soft-play has a new home!

We’re very excited about the new venue for Cottenham Toy Library’s soft play sessions! From this autumn onwards our Friday morning sessions will be at the Cottenham Community Centre! We also have a new time of 11.15am to 12.30pm.

The hall at the centre is bright and spacious, and has more room for all our fantastic equipment. Plus, while your under 5’s are exploring and enjoying themselves, you are welcome to bring in a tea or coffee from the cafe next door… perhaps head there for lunch after your kids have let off steam and had a good play?!

We run two sessions every month for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Sessions are £2 per child, £1 per child under 1 year (babies in arms with siblings are free) or £3 per family. There is a £5 annual membership fee for the academic year.

Whether you’re a regular at our sessions, or just pop in occasionally - please, please, pretty please (with a cherry on top) could you spare just 10 minutes to help with either ‘setting up’ at 11am, or ‘packing away’ at 12.30pm. We just need help moving the equipment, perhaps your children will like to help too?! Please let us know, either via our Facebook page or by using our volunteer ‘sign-up sheet’ at the sessions.

Dates of our autumn/winter sessions are below, but it’s best to check our Facebook page for any updates - we do occasionally have to cancel if we can’t find enough volunteers.

Did you know - we also have a great selection of toys that can be hired for parties and events - including ride-ons, walkers, scooters, see-saws, slides and two small bouncy castles! To book, get in touch via Facebook or our new-look website www.cottenhamtoylibrary.co.uk

Don’t miss our TOY SALE!
Our annual toy sale will take place on Saturday 25th November, 9.30-11am, at Cottenham Primary School. It’s a great chance to grab some amazing bargains including baby toys, puzzles, lego, dolls, cars, ride-on toys, books, board games, construction toys and lots more. You can sell your unwanted toys too, and make some extra cash before Christmas. The PTCA will also be running a bike sale.

All Saints’ Cottenham: welcome to Revd Lynda Davies!

The evening of October 16 th saw the licensing service for Revd Lynda Davies, the new rector of All Saints’ Cottenham and All Saints’ Rampton.    It was a lovely and memorable occasion with a full church and some rousing hymns.  The organist said delightedly, “That was the best congregational singing I’ve ever played for: I got to pull out all the stops.”   The Rt Rev David Thomson, Bishop of Huntingdon, led the service with his characteristic blend of  grace and gentle good humour, and Iain Campbell from her former parish commended her to us warmly.   Members of the Cottenham and Rampton community welcomed Lynda, asked her to make sure the church tower doesn’t fall down like it did 400 years ago, and invited her to do crafts with the Brownies.  The service was followed by a fantastic spread of refreshments from the All Saints’ Cottenham team (pictured below).   We are all very much looking forward to Lynda’s ministry with us. ...
